A few weeks after we found out I was pregnant we had buyers for the boat and the sale of it was in motion.
Everything had worked out perfectly, just how we had always planned it in our own little dream world to go down.
We always said that for us to leave and go home and feel like we had no regrets a few things would have to happen.
1 - I would have to go home already pregnant. CHECK
2 - The boat would have to SELL and we did not have to walk away from our awesome jobs. CHECK
3 - And that we would have to go home in summer to start our new lives. CHECK
The boat sold at 11.00PM on the 15th December and we had handed the boat over to the new crew and tendered into shore by 11.30PM.
We went to our hotel and checked into our room. We opened the curtains and straight out directly in front of us was our boat floating out there.
We layed there and reminisced about the extraordinary life we had lived over the last 10 years in our wonderful world of yachting and thought about just how thankful we were we had got to live it.
Our wonderful life of travel was not coming to an end by no means but it was going to be put on hold just for a little while we settled into the new tiny life joining us.
It was time to go to sleep though as we had a 9am flight out of France back to our home country to start our new life. And yes to SUMMER. Bliss.

The Day After the Big Day and Other Happy News.
The next morning we woke up and just as the weather map had told us BOOM freezing and pouring with rain. Was so nice to just be laying in bed with my new husband watching the rain pouring down our window.
Well we thought we better start making calls and telling people that we were married. Yep absolutely no one knew!
Made the calls and there was a lot of screams and crying but my phone call to my sister was a big one!
It started with
ME: So Scotty and I just got Married
SISTER: Oh my god and screams of happiness.
SISTER: Well Brett and I are having a baby, Im pregnant.
ME: Oh my god Congratulations. Screams of happiness and tears.
ME: Well Scotty and I are having a baby too and Im pregnant.
ME and SISTER: OH MY GOD Screaming, screaming and more screaming.
SISTER: Brett and I are just driving down to Coffs right now to tell Mum.
ME: When you get there lets Skype and tell her together.
SISTER: Ok !
About an hour later my sister arrived and they were all there on Skype.
I dropped the bombshell that we just got married and Mum went berserk with happiness then and a few minutes after mum regained her composure and then Katie said well Im having a baby.
Mum started up again then I said well Mum I am too and it was at that moment mum fell off her chair and almost had a heart attack!
We actually video'd the whole thing but do you think I can find it anywhere. IT WAS PURE GOLD!
Little did we know we would be having our first babies together just 3 weeks apart.

Yep those 3 positive tests don't lie.
As planned as our pregnancy was, finding out I was actually pregnant and we were having a baby was the biggest shock and overwhelming feeling of my life! In a good way of course ( and a slightly shitting myself kinda way. Who am I kidding, TOTALLY shitting myself kinda way).
As my sister had pointed out to me and I think she said it best, ' Well it's a little different for you guys as it's not just as easy as picking out a colour for the nursery'!
Ah Yep!
This meant leaving our jobs and leaving our life we had built over the other side of the world for the past 10 years, moving home to Australia, renovating our house and starting a whole new life!
So thats what we did.
Firstly though it was time to get my pre baby body photo!
Our Wedding Day.x
Our wedding day, WOW what a special day!
It was exactly how we have always envisioned it, just the two of us.
First of all this is a day we have planned to do about 4 times in that past year but last minute work commitments just kept popping up.
So this is how it all went down.
We decided on the Tuesday that we were going to get married on the Thursday! Yep this is how our life rolls basically all the time. Our family and friends call us the lastminute.com couple.
Yachties pretty much work their lives around weather maps and the weather map was saying we had till Friday left of the beautiful summer like weather and then Boom all over, the cold was setting in for the rest of the season.
That did it, I was not getting married in the cold and wasn't waiting another 6mth to get married.
I found the most beautiful spot just outside of Portafino (Italy) and booked us into the gorgeous hotel just above the spot where we wanted to have our ceremony.
I had had my dress for about a year now, Scotty had his suit and we both had our wedding rings.
What more do you need right!
Oh yeah we did get a celebrant and a good friend of ours in Imperia just so happens to be a phenomenal photographer so Scotty asked him (Dario) if he could please shoot our wedding for us. Dario said yes straight away. Scotty said great how's Thursday for you and Dario almost fell over, he said shit i thought you meant like in a year from now. Dario was onboard!
I rang the hotel and asked could they recommend a makeup artist/hairstylist and a florist for my bouquet and they organised the whole thing for me.
GOLD and just like that we were set!
The next day I pack up my wedding dress and Scotty packed up his suit and off we drove to Portafino to get hitched!
Our hotel room balcony just happened to overlook our special spot we were to be married the very next day. I couldn't stop looking at it with so much happiness and excitement in my heart for the next day.
We woke up on our wedding day just in time to see the sunrise and put on our swimmers and headed down to our special wedding spot to take a dip. Such a great start to our wedding day.
Our beautiful Wedding Day sunrise.
Me admiring it and looking over our wedding spot ready for a dip.
After our sunrise dip we went to our hotel breakfast buffet then it was time to have my hair and makeup down.
Hair and make up done!
My bouquet had arrived and it really was not anything at all like I had ordered but didn't think anything more of it. Scotty said he was going to take a walk while I got my hair and makeup done and when he got back there he was standing at the door with my perfect bouquet. Such a wonderful and thoughtful man, knew right then I had picked the right guy.
My beautiful new bouquet my husband just arrived with.
Lucky Girl.
So for the first time on the day I started to get nervous, it was just about time to put on my dress. It was happening!
Just as I was getting into my dress our wedding planner who helped us find our celebrant said that the celebrant couldn't make it. This is 15 minutes before I am meant to be walking down the aisle.
Lucky for us the planner just happened to be a celebrant also so she stepped up. Why she just didn't do it in the first place is beyond me.
So I put on my dress and attached my Nanna's jewellery to my bouquet and I got the call that everything was ready to go whenever I was.
THIS IS IT.....
Our wedding song began and off I went down our long beautiful aisle.

A Birthday In Prague.
So Prague has been on the top of my 'To Do' list for a little while now so you could imagine my excitement when Scotty surprised me with a trip there for my birthday.
We had 1st class tickets and a driver awaiting our arrival with his little sign at the arrival gate ready to take us to the funky boutique hotel Scotty had chosen for us.
The whole trip there went perfectly smoothly. We arrived at about 9pm so went out and grabbed a bite to eat at a great restaurant just up the street.
The next day we booked ourselves in for a tour which we never do but went for it this trip.
We met the tour group at the Church Of The Virgin Mary and off we went. What a spectacular church that is! We would find ourselves coming back to this church over and over again.
The tour started off cold and boring and we both looked at each other with that look of 'If we split would they even know'! Im glad we hung in there though because it got way better and we had the best day and what an amazing city. So many beautiful places and so much brutal culture to take in. Very interesting though.
Now I am writing this entry almost 2yrs later so I don't really remember what we did when etc, it all kind of blurs into one.
One night we decided to get theatre tickets. We picked out the one that we thought looked and sounded the best and put on our best clobber and headed out. Well. Not exactly what we had had pictured in our minds when we arrived. We arrived to a small room with about 50 chairs and a tiny stage (or more like a big box to stand on).
Just by looking at the brochure we thought we had picked the best and most exciting show at a huge theatre where everyone would be all dressed up with binoculars in hand. By the looks of it everybody else that had purchased tickets had thought the same thing.
Not only was the venue not what we expected by the production was pretty bad to. Scotty fell asleep then almost fell off his chair when he got startled. As of that moment I just couldn't hold it together and got the silent giggles. I had my head in my hands for the rest of the show.
Yep the brochure was definitely the best part of the whole experience.
We went and topped the evening off with a sex museum which was fricken hilarious! They were into some seriously weird stuff back in the 1800's I tell ya. Made us laugh and shell shocked for the rest of the night.
Hmm what else did we do.
Ah we went to an old skool jazz club one night. Was very cool. Very very smoky also. Had to sit right near the door to keep getting whiffs of fresh air. Gotta love a genuine old jazz club.
We had a day just walking around the river and parks and just sitting and people watching in the squares. Everything was just so beautiful and exciting to watch.
Rooftop Lunching.
Scotty's 15th meat sandwich for the trip. This was still day 1.
This was my poor attempt of getting a photo of the 'Smoking Hot' female captain we had on the river cruise we went on.
My handsome Man.
Our day of just walking the parks and art museums.
This is Scotty's 'take one more photo and I will throw u in the river look'.
Our Hotel Room.
Rooftop lunch and cocktails time staring at this beautiful thing!
More Meat !
Still Cold.
Just 1 more.
Stalking.
Oh look surprise surprise it's the church again, this time with a horse drawn
carriage in front of it!
