End Of Shows, Warm Welcomes and Sleep...

The week of  The Monaco Boatshow was filled with bad weather, bad seas and no sleep because of the bad weather and bad seas. The couple of good days we did get were beautiful though, especially the sunrises! From when we started coming to the show 9yrs ago things have changed so much. The BIG boats back then for this industry were 50 metres, now the BIG ones are 100+ metres. They are just insane and also soooooo many of them. A few years back there would be only a handful of boats out at anchor off the show, but  now as you can see by our monitors there are probably a hundred or more. Each red bit or small yellow dots are boats all crammed in with each other and every boat is 50 metres +.
It's crazy to think that there is that many 'insanely' wealthy people in this world and this is just whats in Monaco.
Still to this day I can not get my head around this kind of wealth and way of life and I have been living around it and have dedicated the last 9yrs of my life to it.
We packed up sunday morning and headed home to Imperia. You should of seen the warm welcome we had. Our friends were on the dock and on the front of their boats waving, screaming and cheering us in! Was lovely. You know what else was lovely, getting a good nights sleep!

A Monaco Welcome...

The Cannes Boatshow has finished and the Monaco one has begun.
Checkout the welcome we received when we arrived!
Well Im pretty sure it was for us anyway!

Goodbye Barcelona Hello Cannes......

I seriously cant keep up with my life on this blog! We have been left Barcelona for three weeks now and have made our way to Cannes, France for the boatshow. I haven't even written down half of the stuff we got up to in Barcelona.
Im going to start with popping up a few photo's of life crossing over from country to country and Scotty working his magic in the bridge and getting us there safely.
If you have nice weather it can be such a pleasure being out at sea in the middle of nowhere.
Inbetween the serious work of being in the bridge you take time out to get your tan on, do a spot of dolphin and whale spotting and a bit of star gazing at night.

The Dolpin Spotter!

Getting ready to go into Port.

Once the boatshow is done for the day and we are all packed away it is time to relax and play! The best part of the day!!
The wakeboard and paddle board come out and we swim our way into the night!

Barcelona Sunday...

So it's our last sunday in Barcelona  and we started the best way we know. Yep at the beach!
Another cracking day Barcelona has put on for us as we paddled around and checked out the never a dull moment entertainment that is Barcelona Beach.
Half of Barcelona is a nudest beach, which just happens to be the half of the beach that we are based right across the road from. The thing is though only the dirty old men mostly go nude. You will very very rarely see a girl go nude. This is the main and only beach in Barcelona pretty much where there are thousands of people and there families a day walking by and swimming. It's pretty funny and weird at the same time! The other day there was this 70+ year old topless woman with big fake boobs wearing a g-string, well so I thought, when I took another look 'she' actually had 'tackle' in that g-string! Just one of many interesting sights to be seen down there.

Yep thats Scotty in the background taking a surf at his favourite beach! There were so many nude men there that day he didn't know how to get down to the water...  hahahahahaha....

One thing I will not be doing in this post is 'Bullshitting' about the places I go and see and experience .
If its somewhere thats meant to be cool or amazing and it isn't then I'll tell ya!
Ever since we arrived in Barcelona all I wanted to do was go to this place called 'Ice Barcelona', this is a bar made completely of ice only! I had heard of these bars and hotels and this one was just down the road from us so I just had to go!
We rode our bikes along the beach strip to where it is. When you get there you pay 15 euro's each which gets you in and gets you one cocktail. They give you your big snow jackets and gloves and in you go!
Well we got in there and just burst out laughing! It was like being thrown into a walk in freezer with loud music and disco lights but we were the only 2 people in there.
A bar woman comes in to get us our cocktails which tasted like metho then we were left to ummm sit and freeze whilst sipping on metho! I suggest if you go NOT to wear thongs/flip flops as you do not get anything for your feet.
Scotty turned to me and gave me that 'gosh here's yet another stupid over priced thing that you just HAD TO DO look'. I cant tell you how many times I have had that look, he just laughs! So many of these moments too but they are the ones that stand out the most and are definately the funniest.

My Last Saturday...

This saturday was my last saturday in Barcelona. The tension and sadness is building inside, I do not want to leave.
It was Scotty's turn to be on watch on the boat for the weekend so I was on my own.
Hmmmm what to do. The answer to my question was, head to the Borne area, then retail therapy baby and throw a massage in the end!
Off to Borne I peddled. You will soon figure out that our bikes are our pride and joy and our main sources of transportation and freedom!
My bikes name is 'Pink Bits' and Scotty's is the 'Red Rocket' !
I cruised in and out of the streets of Borne for a while then down the 'Arc De Triumph' (No not in Paris) before residing in any shop I could find!
Who knew a pair of leopard print shoes could make a girl so happy! I LUV them sooooo much!
I then decided at the end of my day that the shoes needed to be seen and worn and rang my friends to go for dinner and drinks!

   Happy Feet!!!!
